Both a doctor and attorney, Marilyn went to UC San Francisco Medical school to become a surgeon, and later a Professor of Anesthesiology and Critical Care Medicine at Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore, Maryland.

While working, she attended UC Berkeley Law School and focusing on constitutional law and administrative law. In 2012, she ran for Congress in Ca with a message of personal freedom and limited government. She writes and speaks frequently on the COVID-19 pandemic providing both medical and legal advice.
